Marketing Assistant

Basic Function
Responsible for assisting the marketing department in all campaigns and promotions. Provide assistance to department manager and perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties.

Essential Duties

  1. Assist with planning, coordinating, executing and analyzing campaigns.
  2. Assist with planning and coordinating special events, community involvement, and seminars. Assists in representing the credit union at public functions.
  3. Provide administrative assistance to the Marketing Manager and Marketing Department staff, utilizing a range of computer software applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dreamweaver, Adobe, and other web and graphics software.
  4. Prepare routine to complex correspondence on a variety of subject matters relating to marketing business. Ensure accuracy of work.
  5. Edit marketing collateral and other marketing materials. Proof work of others for accuracy and completeness.
  6. Maintain the department’s calendar of events, photo archive and other up-to-date paper and electronic files.
  7. Answer the department’s telephone, disseminate information or resolve questions, and/or route calls to appropriate individual. Take message and coordinate follow through.
  8. Maintain an inventory of marketing supplies and materials within the department at the branch level. Determine when to reorder and place orders to replenish inventories. Ensure branches have up-to-date marketing materials.
  9. Other duties as assigned by department manager.



Qualifications
Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some coursework in marketing required
• Bachelors degree in marketing or related field or equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum of two years previous experience in a customer/member service position, with a financial institution preferred

Skills:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, web and graphics software
• Knowledgeable about the internet and how to use it as a resource of information
• Attention to detail, strong communication, organizational skills
• Professional demeanor
• Skilled in typing, 10-key and filing
• Intermediate math skills (capable of calculations involving decimals, percentages & factions)
